Foster Cat Chats

Inside Buddy Foster's World

Guest Post Thursday: Bud, The Feline Book Editor

Today’s guest blogger is Bud, a cat who likes to help his mommy with her writing. Bud’s mommy, writer Leah Alford, has a blog called Catwoods Porch party where she writes wonderful  posts about nature and cats, along with great photos. You can visit her here. She has lots of cats so Bud must have lots of playmates.  But I bet he is the boss of them all!

Hi y’all, I’m Bud! I came from the streets. Might as well say that
upfront, since one of my humans writes everything down in a book,
anyway. There’s a long story of how my momcat found the humans, and we
both got taken in off the streets.

The photos never show how ginormous I really am. I’m so big-boned and
strong-willed that there are rumors about my ancestors. I kept hearing
whispers of “bobcat”. I gathered some information from context, and
when the Internet came along I was able to view a picture of that
magnificent beast. That rumor is understandable, but false.

I’m about fifteen now, and in the picture you see me ignoring the
feathery toy the humans wave just for me. I chased everything wildly
in my younger days, but now I’ve perfected the art of being cool,
calm, and collected, no matter what crosses my gaze. In the next
picture, you see me slipping away blissfully into dreamland; the toy
has little effect. Yeah I saw it, I opened my eyes for an instant;
that’s all you’re going to get, humans. I’m a sunsoaking  chillaxer

I’ll still run up and down the hall when cold weather inspires me, but
my real passion these days is editing. I’ve really matured as an
editor over the years. The human doing the web site and book needs my
expertise. We work well together, but I won’t put up with those
non-feline themes much longer. Phsssst! I’ll show ‘er!

Ha! Time to go wrap my claws around some sentences!

For now though I’ll close with purrs, and a big shout out and thank
you to the host, Buddy. BTW great name, Buddy!

Buddy is a wonderful looking cat. Our Sid was also adopted. It is interesting to note that both boys have large paws. Sid send his sincerest meows to Buddy.
