Hoof, the Polydactyl Cat

I am so excited! A few months ago I did a post on polydactyl cats, cats with more than the normal number of toes. You can read the post here. I was paws-itively speechless when I saw a photo of Hoof a few days ago.  He is a polydactyl or Hemingway cat and what huuuuge paws!  Not only that, but he is a feline Easter model.  I am impressed!

Hoof or the Easter bunny?  Can you tell?

Actually it’s me, Hoof, or should I say the Easter Hoofie.

Let me tell you about myself.  I was dropped off as a stray to the Exploits Valley SPCA in Grand Falls Windsor, Newfoundland. I am a grey and white short-haired cat about 2 or 3 years old. I appear to be in good health and I am neutered.

I am a pleasant boy, friendly and quiet. I get along well with other cats and I never cause fights. I don’t start any trouble but I don’t take any either. I don’t think a dog would bother me. I’m a very confident guy.

But the extraordinary thing about me is the size of my paws. They are like hooves, hence my name.

Even those pictures don’t do my paws justice.  They are massive mitts; I would make an excellent wide receiver or outfielder. The people at the EVSPCA told me that mine were easily the biggest paws that ever walked into the shelter.

But let’s look at that Easter photo again.  I allowed Sarah, my photographer to put the hat on my head, I sat in the basket and held the egg all on my own.  I think I have a great modelling career ahead of me.  Some lucky person can actually adopt me.

Please share this post on Facebook. I want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to adopt me.  Like, comment, or tag any interested friends on Facebook. If you are a blogger, please reblog my post.

Help the Easter Hoofer find a home!

For more information about me  please call the shelter at 489-3604. Public hours are 10:30-11:30am and 2:30-4pm every day of the week!

The wonderful people at EVSPCA want to give Hoof an award for those unusual paws but they need a name.  Can you think of a name for Hoof’s Award?  Leave a comment on my blog or on Facebook.

I enjoyed doing it and I love your photos. Hopefully I can use your Easter photos in a post if you don’t mind. I just hope anything I do is a help. All of Bagheera’s gifts have been sent from Amazon. Do you have any yet? His name should be on the address label.
